Pontiac Solstice Windscreen Wind Deflector
Driving with top down causes a low pressure area inside the cockpit. Area pressure is equalized, then causing turbulence inside the cockpit. Hair flies about, it's difficult to talk on you cell phone, and when you take long trips with the top-down, you can't talk to passengers or hear your stereo.
A BackBlade Convertible Pontiac Windscreen interrupts the turbulence pattern, significantly reducing wind backwash inside the cockpit.
The result is calm and quite inside the cockpit. You enjoy the convertible once again.
This wind deflector covers all Pontiac Solstice model years.

MOUNTING PROBLEM SOLVED
Position: Mounted on back side against trunk lid.
Problem: Windblocker puts pressure against trunk lid seal, making the trunk difficult to close. If the windstop is made thinner to accommodate, then the windscreen is prone to cracking.
Position: GM Fly Swatter model.
Problem: Expensive, about $300 for the cost of the windblocker plus another $200 for the dealer to install. Requires drilling two holes into your car.
Position: Against the deck, directly behind the rear seats.
Problem: Effective, but inelegant. There is no native attachment mechanism for the windscreen to hang onto, so the windscreen is typically cobbled into place with either tacky tape, or drilling holes and holding down with screws.
Position: Mount directly onto the body of the car between the camel humps.
Solution: Use a non-obtrusive way to mount the windblocker onto the Solstice without any permanent modifications, and without compromising any other section of the car.
Discussion: Do the suction cups for mounting really work? Short answer - yes, with plenty to spare. Long answer: Each suction cup has a pull weight of forty pounds. At sixty MPH, the buffeting applies about eight pounds per square inch of pressure, well under the designed limit. Since the windstop mounts with four suction cups, you could drive your Solstice downhill in a hurricane, and this windscreen is still secure!
